Already for several years, we in the Varuboden-Osla have worked actively to reduce our food waste.
"Did you know that a third of all the food we produce in the world becomes food waste in one form or another?
We want to improve that by constantly finding creative solutions through, among other things, smart inventory and ordering systems, efficient food handling routines, discounted products, sales of our popular Svinnis and Brödis boxes and food donations.
Together with Skördefestens Vänner, we have taken our work one step further. We also help take care of waste in homes through our initiative sVINNspiration. A simple and smart way to take care of the tired but tasty ingredients that have been hiding in the fridge or at the back of the pantry. At the same time, we care just as much about our local producers and artisans. A number of small-scale Åland food producers have found their way to Finland through us, and we are constantly looking for new, exciting and locally produced products. So why not combine one of the svinnis and brödis boxes together with our many locally produced ingredients.
We want to contribute to meal creativity with Varuboden's Spring Inspiration. We have invited food creator Harriet Strandvik to guide us in the right direction when we combine local ingredients and fresh ingredients with tired but tasty vegetables from our Svinnis boxes.
