This is how Åland Spring Fair works
During Åland Spring Fair, the Åland countryside invites you to celebrations in the green. Here we have collected all the tips you need to enjoy the most beautiful spring weekend on Åland in the best possible way.
Good to know
- Everything sold at Åland Spring Fair is processed or produced on Åland.
- All cafes and restaurants undertake to comply The Åland Kitchen Manifesto.
- Åland Spring Fair is organized by the association Skördefestens Vänner rf. You can become a member of the association and support Åland agriculture here.
Shop at Åland Spring Fair
- You will definitely find a lot of good food to buy home. Bring a cooler bag, so that everything you buy is kept fresh even if you want to stay extra long at Åland Spring Fair.
- Cards have really become king in recent years, for obvious reasons. Most sellers today accept card payments, but you never know when things will go wrong. So bring some cash with you just in case.
- Many visitors shop eagerly, and sometimes something runs out. But don't be sad about it - see it instead as a chance to find a new favorite product.
Put Åland on the plate
- Are you a larger group that wants to eat? Please book the meal in advance. In this way, the hosts can provide you with the best possible service. Bookings are made directly to the respective venue.
Who should we visit?
- Åland Spring Fair's Program sheet helps you find your way and stay on track during the weekend. The program can be found on all farms and in our main sponsor Varuboden's stores.
- With our app you can easily get around and plan your route. You will find it in your app store under the name Skördefesten på Åland & Åland Grönskar.
Find right directions easily
- Via the Program page you will find links with info and a map to each excursion destination and Plåpp Åpp.
- When you approach, there are Åland Spring Fair signs and pennants to guide you in the right direction.
Get around
- Feel free to carpool, it makes the car trip more fun and is better for the environment.
- Parking is available at all Åland Spring Fair participants, but it may be a bit of a walk.
Think of …
- Plåpp Åpp participants are open at different times during the weekend. See the times in the program sheet or on the website and keep an eye on the clock.
- Many farms only have an open house during Spring Fair and do not have routines to receive any number of guests at the same time. Therefore, there can sometimes be a queue. We hope you see it as part of the experience and take your time.
- Not all animals on farms are used to dogs. Be careful not to let your own dog get too close to them.
Gear up smart
- Save the environment, feel free to pack your own coffee mug, water bottle, cutlery, cloth bags and take-away boxes to reduce waste.
- Clay and soil belong to the countryside. With sturdy shoes, you will avoid getting wet and dirty around your feet.
Necessary?
- All farms have a toilet. If you're really lucky, you get to experience the charm of an outhouse.
